⭐️ REACH for the Stars…..literally
Table Mountain
Best time to go: Early morning or late afternoon for fewer crowds and better lighting. We did just before sunset and the views take your breath away
Cape Town is full of iconic sights, but nothing quite compares to Table Mountain. Towering over the city with its unmistakable flat top, this natural wonder is one of the New7Wonders of Nature — and for good reason.
The cable car itself is a highlight — a rotating floor ensures that everyone gets panoramic views during the 5-minute ride up the 1,000+ meter mountain. Watching the city shrink beneath you while the vast Atlantic Ocean stretches beyond the horizon is surreal.
Once at the summit, the scenery is jaw-dropping. You can stroll along well-marked pathways and take in 360° views of:
• Cape Town and the V&A Waterfront
• Robben Island in the distance
• The dramatic Twelve Apostles mountain range
• Camps Bay and the Atlantic coastline
📸 What to Do at the Top
• Take photos at every angle (sunrise or sunset is best for golden hour magic).
• Grab a snack or coffee at the Table Mountain Café.
• Spot rock hyraxes (locally called “dassies”) lounging on the rocks.
• Learn about the mountain’s geology and biodiversity from informative plaques and exhibits.
Would I do it again? In a heartbeat — maybe next time, I’ll hike up and cable car down!
